THE NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS

Here are a few of the more memorable non-player characters our brave adventurers have run into, run afoul of, or both...

Ningauble of the Seven Eyes

This obese figure engeased the party to travel to his caves near Ilthmar.  There, he tasked you with infiltrating the Thieves' Guildhouse to bring him the Hand of Ohmphal, a former master thief.

Sheelba of the Eyeless Face

This robed figure met the party in the Great Salt Marsh as his walking hut frightened away a swamp behemoth.  He tasked you with killing an upstart sorcerer in the employ of the Thieves' Guild, Hristomilo.

Hristomilo (and Slivikin)

Hristomilo was an upstart sorcerer employed by the Thieves' Guild.  The party managed to kill him in the midst of performing a ritual, but his familiar Slivikin escaped...

Captain Troggard (and Polly)

Captain Troggard is the captain of the Frothy Seaman (also known as the Froth Fighter).  He frequents the Salty Seaman when in Ilthmar.  His pet parrot, Polly, is often found sitting on Troggard's shoulder, taking small bites out of Troggard's ear.

The Sea King

The Sea King was happy when the party thwarted an assassination attempt against him.  You imagine he is much less happy now that he has learned of the theft of his powerful conch.

Sea King's Wives

These enchantresses were performing a ritual designed to sink the Frothy Seaman when you intercepted them in the nick of time.

Beulah, the Busty Bullywug Beauty

This beauty from the Sea King's personal harem is now the mother to a group of greasy-haired tadpoles that bear a striking resemblance to Sly...

Samson, the Changeling

Samson was the leader of a band of rival adventurers who were sent by The Mage to retrieve the Sea King's magic conch.  After his ruse impersonating the captain was discovered, he served as Grym's official punching bag for the remainder of the voyage back to Lankhmar.

The Mage

Known only as "The Mage," this figure is reputed to be a great wizard who operates out of the domed city of Quarmall.

Hengel

A short, stocky dwarvish-looking fellow who is the proprietor of a magic shop in the Plaza of Dark Delights.

Pluvus

Supposed leader of a cult of Tyaa worshipers somewhere in Lankhmar.

Jenks

Member of the Thieves' Guild who recruited the party to bring him Lord Dunstan's journal.

Lord Dunstan

Nobleman of Lankhmar who died about two centuries ago.  A great explorer and patron of exploration, he amassed great wealth and chronicled many of his travels in his encoded journal.  Many Lankhmarts have forgotten the night two centuries ago known as The Sanguine Uprising, the culmination of a decades-old dispute over the rightful rulership of Lankhmar.  Many believed the Dunstan family the true heirs to the throne and not the Kristomerces line, so Dunstan's supporters attempted to take the Rainbow Palace, home of the Overlord, by force.  The coup failed, ensuring that the Kristomerces line would continue to rule to this day; but the Dunstan family has never forgotten their ancient quarrel and believe their house has been bereft of the kingship for far too long...

The People

The People are led by the Captain, Gallius, and his Raunie, Elderia.  Also among the People's ranks are the seer, Miss Kleo, and the heavily tatooed illusionist known only as Igor, The Illustrated Man.
